WILL CONAN COME BACK ON “IDOL GIVES BACK”?

Conan O’Brien may be arriving at Fox a lot sooner than anyone had thought — but not as host of his own late-night talk show again (although talks reportedly have resumed between Fox and O’Brien over a possible return to late-night foolery). Several websites reported over the weekend that O’Brien had been approached to appear on Fox’s Idol Gives Back charity show on April 21. O’Brien’s camp has reportedly forwarded the invitation to NBC to see whether they will allow O’Brien to appear. Some published reports commented that NBC was unlikely to do so, and indeed, the Hollywood Reporter reported today (Monday) that NBC’s answer was no.
