Shirley Sherrod, the former Department of Agriculture official who was forced to resign after conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart posted a misleadingly edited video of her on his website in which she appeared to make racist comments, said Thursday that she intends to sue Breitbart. Following her resignation, an examination of the entire video revealed that Breitbart had taken her remarks out of context. Appearing to address the numerous apologies she has received ranging from conservative talk-show hosts who ran Breitbart’s original video to members of the Obama administration, including the president himself, Sherrod said, “I’ve gone from feeling like such a failure … to feeling very, very great with all the support that’s come forth.”
