In a controversial move, Summit Entertainment plans to release the second installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn one year after the first installment hits the screens in November 2011. The two films are being shot back-to-back, leading Los Angeles Times movie writer Steven Zeitchik to remark that “in taking its time between the movies, Summit is increasing the risk that that fans will get distracted or lose some enthusiasm.” Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the filmmakers are caught up in a dispute with Summit Entertainment over whether to release the two Breaking Dawn episodes in 3D. According to the magazine, director Bill Condon is opposed to the proposal and is apparently finding overwhelming support on Facebook and fansites from avid followers of the vampire tale.
