Jeff Zucker, the controversial NBC Universal CEO, has sent an email message to company employees announcing that he will be leaving the company after the completion of the Comcast takeover, expected by the end of the year. As reported by the New York Times, Zucker indicated that the decision was not his own and came after meeting with Comcast COO Steve Burke two weeks ago. “We had both gotten to the same place,” Zucker told the Times. “He made it clear that they wanted to move on at the close of the deal and I was completely comfortable with that.” Nevertheless, Zucker confessed that his forced departure was “gut-wrenching in the sense that you have spent your whole life here at NBC.”
