One Steven Spielberg film will be challenging another Steven Spielberg film at the box office over the holiday period. Disney announced Wednesday that Spielberg’s War Horse, which originally was to have debuted next summer, will instead be released on Dec. 28, five days after the premiere of Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, which is being released by Paramount. In an interview with today’s (Thursday) Los Angeles Times, DreamWorks chief Stacey Snider said, “We think that there’s room for a couple of holiday movies during that season. People go to multiple films during the Christmas season. We’re hoping both movies play into January.”
