Sony’s The Social Network got more “Like” votes than any other movie over the weekend as it held on to the box-office lead in its second week with an estimated $15.5 million in ticket sales. Combined with strong mid-week business, the film about the origins of Facebook has now earned about $46.1 million after ten days. Three films made their debuts with mediocre results. Warner Bros.’ Life as We Know It came in second with around $14.6 million, followed by Disney’s Secretariat in third place with $12.6 million. Universal’s horror flick, Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take, found few takers as it opened with $6.9 million. The box office remained sluggish, with total receipts some 15 percent below those for the comparable week a year ago.
