One of the professional dancers on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars is upset with a plan by the producers to put contestants to the test by giving them a dance to perform without allowing them to hear the music in advance. The new aspect of the dance contest is due to be inaugurated on next Monday’s telecast. In an interview with E! Online, dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, whose celebrity partner is singer Brandy, called the plan a “crazy thing” and expressed doubts whether “it’ll make for great TV.” He added, “I’m not the producer. It’s not my show. What the production doesn’t realize is that it doesn’t make it any easier or harder on the celebrities. It makes it harder for the professionals. It’s really unfair to us because we are doing way too much.” Chmerkovskiy also complained that the plan puts “unnecessary pressure” on the celebrity contestants.
