NBC’S LAW & ORDER FRANCHISE TAKES RATINGS HIT

Now, even NBC’s only two scripted shows that have been producing decent ratings are sinking. Wednesday night’s Law and Order: SVU and Law and Order: Los Angeles fell to season lows, with the latter drawing 8 million viewers and the former, 7.7 million. Earlier, its drama Undercovers, which has perched on the brink of cancellation since its debut in September, drew just 5.85 million viewers. Without having to face competition from the World Series, CBS’s lineup improved and easily dominated every half-hour of primetime Wednesday. Survivor: Nicaragua remained in first place in the 8:00 p.m. hour with 12.3 million viewers. Criminal Minds took the baton at 9:00 p.m. with 14.40 million, then passed it to The Defenders which crossed the finish line at 10:00 p.m. with 9.91 million.

UPDATE: NBC pulled the plug on Undercovers on Thursday.
