Beverly Hills police on Tuesday seized computers in the office and home of Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen hoping that they might reveal emails or other correspondence that would give them a clue to her shooting death. The Los Angeles Times reported on its website early today (Wednesday) that they have also requested video surveillance tapes from the owners of the expensive homes in the area where the shooting occurred. Chasen was killed as she was driving on Whittier Drive in Beverly Hills shortly after midnight after attending the premiere of the movie Burlesque and an after-movie party in Hollywood with longtime client, songwriter Diane Warren. (A macabre irony: Warren wrote the song “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me,” which Cher, who stars in the movie, performs.) A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner/Medical Examiner said that Chasen died of five gunshot wounds to the chest. Investigators indicated that they had little to go on.
