DreamWorks Animation says it has “touched up” more than 700 scenes from its four Shrek movies for its holiday DVD/Blu-ray Disc package: Shrek: The Whole Story, which is being released by Paramount Home Video on Dec. 7. Home Media magazine quoted CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg as saying that the Shrek discs represent “our heritage here, the Tiffany Standard. We lavished everything we could on them.” The audio track has also been given a makeover, according to Ethan Van der Ryn, a sound effects editor for the studio. “It’s really quite more expansive, and there’s more of it,” he told the publication. “[The] dialogue is more crisp and clear.” The package also includes hours of extras, including “Donkey’s Christmas Shrektacular.” The SRP for the Blu-ray package is $44.99, a figure that the studio describes as a “screaming-hot price point.” <
