DirecTV has become the latest TV outlet to reject the four-hour miniseries The Kennedys that was originally set to air on the History Channel. That channel reportedly turned it down because of charges that it presented baseless speculation about the personal lives of President John F. Kennedy and other members of the Kennedy family. It was later reported that the miniseries had been shopped to other cable networks, including Showtime, Starz, FX and other outlets, who had also turned it down. Taking it to DirecTV had appeared to be a last-ditch attempt to find an outlet for the miniseries before turning it over to a DVD distributor.
