Another reporter for Rupert Murdoch’s London tabloid News of the World has been arrested in connection with the revived police investigation of alleged voicemail hacking by the paper. James Weatherup, a 25-year veteran reporter for the newspaper, is the third current or former employee of the NoW to be arrested during the past week, as Scotland Yard steps up its probe. Like his two colleagues, Weatherup was questioned at a police station while other officers searched his home. But the Guardian newspaper reported that before they arrived at his office at News of the World, executives of the newspaper had removed everything from his desk and transferred the contents to the offices of the company’s lawyers.
