The BBC has defended itself against criticism of its decision to broadcast the final moments of life of an 84-year-old man. The death scene is included in a science series, Inside the Human Body, in which the span of life from birth to death is traced. In an interview with the BBC publication Radio Times, Michael Mosely, the host of the program, said, “There are those who feel that showing a human death on television is wrong, whatever the circumstances. … Although I respect this point of view I think there is a case to be made for filming a peaceful, natural death — a view shared by many who work closely with the dying.”
