Easter may be more than three weeks away, but the teenage son of the Easter Bunny is arriving early at movie theaters this weekend and capturing the family audience until the real holiday comes along. Hop — a hybrid live/computer-generated film, is expected to earn around $25 million, despite dismal reviews. Box-office forecasters say that it will far surpass the take of the sci-fi thriller Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which is receiving mostly favorable reviews, and the micro-budgeted ($1.5 million) horror flick Insidious, which is receiving mixed reviews. Also (re)opening this weekend is a PG-13 version of The Weinstein Co.’s Oscar winner The King’s Speech.
