The first week of the summer season arrived last week, but thanks to the NBA Finals and a couple of talent contests, it wasn’t all reruns dominating the Nielsen top ten list. Thursday’s Game 2 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat attracted 15.5 million viewers and topped the list. Games 3 and 1 recorded similar numbers. But the season premiere of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday came in close behind with 15.2 million. And another NBC talent contest, The Voice, drew 14.4 million. The remaining five shows in the top ten were all CBS reruns. But basketball was able to give ABC a rare weekly win with an average 4.7 rating and an 8 share. CBS placed second with a 4.3/7. NBC took third with a 3.4/6, while Fox trailed with a 2.6/4.
