The return of Big Brother on CBS Wednesday night helped lift the network to No. 1 in the ratings even though NBC had the top-rated show of the night, America’s Got Talent, with 11 million viewers. Big Brother, although No. 1 in the 8:00 p.m. time period, attracted 7.25 million viewers. While a solid figure, particularly for a summer reality show, it was not the network’s top-rated show for the night. That honor went to a repeat of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which is now permanently settling in to its new location on Wednesday nights. Wednesday’s installment attracted 7.30 million viewers. On Fox, a two-hour version of So You Think You Can Dance placed third in the ratings with an average 5.46 million viewers.
