TYLER PERRY: HIGHEST PAID MAN IN ENTERTAINMENT

Tyler Perry, the creator of the Madea movies, is the highest-paid man in entertainment, Forbes magazine reported today (Tuesday). The financial magazine observed that while the likes of Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp receive most of the public’s attention, only two personalities at the top of the list are actors — and one is Perry, who actually earns most of his money as a writer/director/producer. (The other actor is Leonardo DiCaprio, who ranks eighth on the list.) The top ten and their earnings between May 2010 and May 2011: 1. Tyler Perry, $130 million; 2. Jerry Bruckheimer, $113 million; 3. Steven Spielberg, $107 million; 4. Elton John, $100 million; 5. Simon Cowell, $90 million; 6. James Patterson, $84 million; 7. Dr. Phil McGraw, $80 million; 8. Leonardo DiCaprio, $77 million; 9. Howard Stern, $76 million; 10. Tiger Woods, $75 million.
