GREEN LANTERN IS GREEN ON HOME VIDEO

Even though it was released on a Friday, instead of the usual Tuesday for DVD and Blu-ray discs, Warner Home Video’s Green Lantern was the top seller on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, Home Media magazine reported on Wednesday. Taking Blu-ray sales only into account, the No. 1 film was Disney’s The Lion King. It was the second week in a row for the 1993 animated film to dominate the Blu-ray chart, and its success came despite the fact — or perhaps because of the fact — that the movie was still playing in theaters. (The studio had originally planned to release the movie in theaters for just two weeks to promote the Blu-ray package.) Second place on the combined DVD/Blu-ray chart was Warner’s Horrible Bosses. On Home Media‘s rental chart, Sony’s Zookeeper ranked No. 1.
