CBS, NBC ANNOUNCE MID-SEASON LINE-UP

CBS and NBC each announced mid-season changes on Monday, and in the case of CBS, the changes were minuscule. The new Rob Schneider comedy ¡Rob!, about a middle-aged bachelor who marries a Hispanic woman, will debut Jan. 12, replacing Rules of Engagement, and a third season of Undercover Boss will debut on Jan. 15, replacing The Amazing Race. NBC, on the other hand, is completely rejiggering its schedule, with the cult favorite Community being bounced, at least temporarily. Also off the NBC schedule for the time being is Prime Suspect. Neither show has been canceled outright. Joining the NBC lineup are two comedies — Fashion Star and Are You There, Chelsea? — and two dramas — The Firm and Smash.
UPDATE: NBC has shut down further production of Prime Suspect, trade reports said late Tuesday.
