SCREEN ACTORS GUILD UNVEILS NOMINEES

The Screen Actors Guild has announced its nominees for its 18th annual awards contest, with The Help, Bridesmaids, Midnight in Paris, The Descendants and The Artist receiving nods in the outstanding cast performance category — SAG’s equivalent to the best picture selections. The Help received the most nominations — four. Besides the award for best cast, Viola Davis was nominated for best actress, while Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer received nominations in the supporting-actress category, Winners are due to be announced on Jan. 29 in ceremonies that will be televised by Time Warner-owned cable channels TBS and TNT.
