A four-minute video produced by Fox News that attacks the four-year tenure of President Obama has drawn criticism from at least one prominent conservative commentator. Radio talk-show host and newspaper columnist Ed Morrissey said on the conservative media blog Hot Air that the video gives Fox News critics unnecessary ammunition. “If anyone wanted to look for evidence that the overall Fox News organization intends to campaign against Obama rather than cover the campaign, this video would be difficult to refute as evidence for that claim,” Morrissey wrote on the Hot Air blog. The video first aired — twice — on the Fox morning show Fox & Friends and was posted on the Fox Nation website. But late in the day on Wednesday, the video was removed from the site and bloggers who had embedded it into their own sites suddenly discovered that the video was replaced by an error message indicating that the video was no longer available. Following the Fox and Friends airing, the show’s hosts, Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade each congratulated Chris White, the Fox News associate producer who created it. White, however, may not have heard such congratulations from the network’s programming chief Bill Shine, who told “The package that aired on Fox & Friends was created by an associate producer and was not authorized at the senior executive level of the network. This has been addressed with the show’s producers.”
