ROGER AILES — AP ISN’T “NEUTRAL”

Roger Ailes
Apparently Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes believes that the Associated Press is yet another mainstream news outlet that is neither fair nor balanced. In an interview with WOUB, a public radio station in Athens, OH, and reported by TVNewser.com, Ailes said that he began his career working at Ohio University’s radio station. “They used to put up AP headlines back when the AP was a neutral news source. It isn’t as neutral today, but it is still a news source,” Ailes remarked, adding, “$24 million is what News Corp pays them for non-neutral news.” In June, 2010, CNN dropped AP, a wire service that it had used since its inception 30 years earlier. At the time CNN worldwide president Jim Walton said, “The content we offer will be distinctive, compelling and, I am proud to say, our own.”
