The victory of the Spanish team drew 87 percent of Spain’s viewers — making it the most-watched television program in the country’s history. ESPN’s telecasts have been averaging 1.2 million viewers, up 64 percent against 2008. In addition WatchESPN, the sports network’s mobile app, has been averaging around 85,000 viewers per match.
