FAMED PRODUCERS COUPLE RECEIVE DEATH THREATS

The husband-and-wife team of producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall have obtained a restraining order against a man who has made several threats against them, including one threatening Marshall’s life and another referring to Kennedy’s “suicide.” The gossip site TMZ, which disclosed the court order, said that that the threats were made by Bret McDonnell in phone messages left at the couple’s Santa Monica offices last month. Nothing is known about McDonnell; a Google search brings up no one by that name. Kennedy and Marshall are best known for their work with Steven Spielberg on such films as ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, the Indiana Jones movies and recently The Adventures of Tintin and War Horse. In one of the voicemail messages, McDonnell reportedly said that he was working for emergency services and found “17 bodies” on the set of one of Kennedy’s movies. The restraining order, which has a three-year duration, bars McDonnell from contacting them or coming within 100 yards of them, their company, Amblin Entertainment, Universal Studios, DreamWorks Studios or Lucas Films.
