Universal executives were feeling downright grumpy on Wednesday following reports that they had dumped Kristen Stewart from the planned sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. The reports, touched off by a story in the Hollywood Reporter that cited unnamed sources, linked the alleged booting to Stewart’s admitted affair with director Rupert Sanders that, in turn, led to the end of her romantic relationship with Robert Pattinson. But on Wednesday, Universal denied the reports. In a statement Universal Co-chairman Donna Langely said, “We are extremely proud of Snow White and the Huntsman and we’re currently exploring all options to continue the franchise. Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false.” Meanwhile, the gossip website TMZ is reporting that Stewart is outraged that she is “taking all the heat” over the affair. She reportedly has told friends that Sanders, a married man, is 19 years her senior and was “in a position of power over her” as director of the movie. (The website is currently polling its readers asking whether they would see the Snow White sequel if Stewart is not in it. At this point in the voting, more than 60 percent are saying they would not.
