TOP-RANKED DVD SELLER LAST WEEK: A MINISERIES

With few blockbusters hitting the shelves of DVD/Blu-ray retailers, consumers last week made the surprise hit Hatfields & McCoys miniseries their No. 1 choice on DVD and No.2 on Blu-ray, according to the Nielsen VideoScan’s First Alert sales chart. Batman Begins was the top choice on Blu-ray, while The Dark Knight placed second on the DVD chart and third on the Blu-ray chart. On Home Media magazine’s weekly rental chart, Fox’s Mirror Mirror remained No. 1, followed by Lockout, 21 Jump Street, Wanderlust and Safe House. Next week sales are likely to receive a boost with the release of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
