NOW A GAY GREEN LANTERN WILL HAVE A MUSLIM SIDEKICK

September 4, 2012 by · 8 Comments

Warner Bros.-owned DC Comics, which surprised fans in June when it announced that its long-running character The Green Lantern will come out as gay, has revealed that one of the principal characters of its relaunched Green Lantern series will be Arab-American. Geoff Johns, the chief creative officer and writer of the series, has created Simon Baz, who is based on his own background growing up as a Lebanese American in Dearborn, MI, the largest Arab community in the U.S. According to the Associated Press, the character’s story will begin on Sept. 11, 2001 when Simon, age 10, watches the attack on the World Trade Center on TV, and proceeds as U.S. Arabs and Muslims face suspicion and ostracism. Johns told the AP: “One of the things I really wanted to show was its effect on Simon and his family in a very negative way.” But, aside from that message, Johns said, “I think it’s great to have an Arab American superhero. This was opportunity and a chance to really go for it.”

You people have know sense at all! That really makes me not want to see it at all!!!!

It’s not a movie. There is a new character in the comics who will be a new Green Lantern. He’s also not going to be the gay Green Lantern’s sidekick.

Maybe get your facts straight before writing the article. The gay Green Lantern is not getting a sidekick. Baz is just a new Green Lantern. He’s not even gonna be on the same Earth as the gay one.

Um…they do know that the gay Green Lantern is not the same Lantern that Johns writes in JL…that is the Green Lantern in Earth 2…idiots

I don’t think whoever wrote this article realises the Green Lantern isn’t just one guy….

And I don’t think he’ll be a “sidekick”. Green Lantern hasn’t had a sidekick in decades. I’m not sure how he’ll be used with Hal Jordan and Sinestro (haven’t read GL in a couple months), but I doubt it will be a sidekick role.

Write articles like you want to deliver a news to people !! Not like you’re expressing your own obnoxious insight !!
