Only days after the daughter of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel seemed to portray Warner Bros. as Lex Luther in its battle to deny her and other Siegel heirs a greater share of Superman profits, a judge has dismissed an effort by Siegel’s partner, Joe Shuster, to reclaim his interest in the character. Federal judge Otis D. Wright ruled that a 1992 agreement between Warner Bros.-owned DC Comics and Shuster’s sister Jean and brother Frank was “not subject to termination.” Under that settlement, DC agreed to pay all of Shuster’s outstanding debts — he had recently died. In his ruling Wright further noted that DC has paid the Siegel and Shuster families more than $4 million since 1975.
