RATINGS FOR WORLD SERIES CONTINUE TO SLIDE

October 26, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Ratings for the second game of the World Series Thursday night were down appreciably from last year. The game between the San Francisco Giants and the Detroit Tigers drew 10.23 million viewers, down from 14.17 million for Game 2 a year ago. It drew a 2.9 rating and an 8 share among adults 18-49 versus a 4.0/11 last year, a 27-percent drop. A pitchers’ duel occupying the early innings that produced only a handful of hits was probably responsible for much of the ratings fall-off. The audience increased in the final 10:00 p.m. hour, as the Giants went ahead 2-0 and the game took over first place among both total viewers and the 18-49 demo.
