It’s shaping up as the weekend that James Bond will be brought down by bloodsuckers, if overseas figures reported by Nikki Finke on her website are any sign. Finke, citing figures for four overseas markets where The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 opened earlier in the week, noted that the movie has begun breaking records for the franchise in both revenue and attendance. Based on reports that the movie pulled in 219,000 customers on its opening day in France, Finke figured that, given that figure, it earned $1.8 million and that the result is a whopping 45 percent higher than last year’s Breaking Dawn, Part 1 in that country. But other results in smaller markets were also impressive. Results in The Netherlands were up 105 percent above Part 1. In Sweden they were up 54 percent and in Belgium, 84 percent. The film opens domestically on Friday, and some box-office pundits are predicting that it could amass $150 million before the weekend is over.
