NBC TO AIR TELETHON TO AID HURRICANE VICTIMS

Some of the East Coast’s most famous celebrities have agreed to appear on an NBC telethon on Friday to help aid victims of Hurricane Sandy. Among the celebrities scheduled to appear are Bruce Springsteen (born in New Jersey), Jimmy Fallon (Brooklyn), Christina Aguilera (Staten Island), Jon Bon Jovi (New Jersey), and Billy Joel (Long Island). The program will be hosted by Matt Lauer (New York City), and will also feature the British rock singer Sting. Besides airing on the NBC broadcast network, the telethon, which will originate at NBC studios at New York’s Rockefeller Center, will also be carried by cable channels Bravo, CNBC, USA, MSNBC, E!, Style, Syfy, G4 and others. Proceeds from the telethon will go the the American Red Cross’s Sandy relief efforts.
