it would seem. The best-selling DVD and Blu-ray title to land under the tree during the week before Christmas was Universal’s raunchy comedy Ted. (It had also scored the top spot in its debut the previous week.) Warner Bros.’ The Dark Knight Rises remained in second place, according to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart. The surprise third-place finisher was Universal’s Pitch Perfect. Home Media magazine described it as “the holiday season’s top overperformer in terms of home video sales, with first-week sales reportedly running up to 30 percent higher than expected.” The top film on Home Media‘s rental chart was Sony’s Total Recall, which placed sixth on the sales list.
