THURSDAY NIGHT: NBC’S NOT SEEN TV

NBC may be making a marked comeback in the ratings between Sunday and Wednesday, but it is losing badly on Thursday night, a night that it once commanded with a Must See TV lineup that averaged more than 20 million viewers weekly. Last Thursday’s lineup, by contrast averaged just 3.2 million viewers, with its comedy Up All Night, now in its second season, drawing just 2.7 million viewers. But the worst of the story could be detected among the ratings for viewers 18-49, the key age group so far as advertisers are concerned. The website TVbytheNumbers.com pointed out that among that group, NBC would have ranked seventh if cable networks were also included in the stats. Its 10:00 p.m. newsmagazine Rock Center drew just an 0.9 rating and a 2 share among 18-49-year-old viewers.
