Who says people won’t watch television on Saturday nights? The Baltimore Ravens double-overtime victory over the Denver Broncos Saturday drew the largest TV audience for an AFC divisional playoff on record — an average of 35.3 million viewers, peaking in the 8:00-8:30 p.m. half hour with 40.8 million viewers during the overtime period. Saturday’s game was up 3 percent from last year’s average of 34.2 million for Denver’s contest against the New England Patriots. Later in the night, Fox averaged 29.3 million viewers for the NFC playoff between the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers. Nevertheless, despite the strong ratings for football, ABC was also able to score solid numbers for its telecast of the Miss America pageant, which averaged 8.3 million viewers. NBC was the biggest loser of the night with two hours of repeats of The Biggest Loser that averaged just 1.5 million viewers and a rerun of Deception with 1.9 million.
