Shares of Lionsgate were nudging into record territory in morning trading again today (Tuesday) after the company announced plans to release an extended DVD and Blu-ray editiion of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1, with eight minutes of unreleased footage. “As ‘Twilight’ series devotees know, there was a lot of ground to cover in adapting ‘Breaking Dawn to the screen,” director Bill Condon said in a statement “Between the wedding, the honeymoon, the birth, and everything in between, naturally there were things that didn’t make it into our final cut. But I wanted to make sure that for all the Twihards out there, there was a chance to see some of these cut scenes — several of which are fan favorites from the book.” Reporting on the company’s plans, the New York Daily News commented, “There seems to be an insatiable appetite from fans to suck more out of the vampire and werewolf saga.”
