NBC, which has been focusing its efforts on rebuilding its Sunday-through-Wednesday lineup, drew some of its best Wednesday numbers of recent years when its new Chicago Fire at 10:00 p.m. attracted 8.4 million viewers, a season high, against a repeat of CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which drew 6.2 million. ABC’s Nashville: The Whole Story in the same hour drew 3.9 million viewers. NBC also won the 9:00 p.m. hour with a new episode of Law & Order: SVU, which drew 7.75 million viewers, beating reruns of the CBS hit Criminal Minds with 6.6 million viewers and ABC’s Moden Family with 6.5 million. However, in the 8:00 p.m. hour, the NBC comedies Whitney and Guys with Kids remained a weak point in the Wednesday lineup, garnering just 5 million and 4.35 million viewers respectively.
