Ratings for Wednesday night’s edition of American Idol remained virtually flat with last week, with an average of some 15.6 million viewers tuning in. Once again, CBS and ABC aired mostly repeats, although the CBS special, Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials was the second-highest-rated show of the night, with 9.9 million viewers tuning in at 8:00 p.m. NBC posted mixed results. Its half-hour sitcoms, Whitney and Guys With Kids drew minuscule ratings at 8:00 pm. (3.6 million viewers and 2.9 million respectively), but Law & Order: SVU drew a respectable 6.4 million viewers at 9:00 p.m. and Chicago Fire put the network in first place at 10:00 p.m. with 7.23 million viewers.
UPDATE: Thursday’s ratings for Idol were down by about 2 million viewers from the previous week.
