Several reviews of A Good Day to Die Hard took note of the sparseness of dialog in the script and speculated that it was all part of a strategy by the filmmakers to attract non-English-speaking overseas audiences. If that in fact was the case, it worked. Over the regular three-day weekend (for some odd reason, they don’t celebrate Presidents Day abroad), the movie earned $61.5 million versus $24.8 million during the same period domestically. Inasmuch as the film had already opened a week earlier in some markets abroad, it has already earned more than $100 million worldwide. And it has yet to open in several key markets, including China, France, Brazil, India and Australia.
