The Warner Archive Collection is a library of films and classic TV shows from Warner Bros.’ catalog that are not popular enough to be mass produced but can be “manufactured on demand” (MOD) for individual customers. Films in the Collection, which has been mimicked by Sony, MGM, Universal, Disney, and Fox, can be ordered through Warner’s own WBShop and other online retailers, including Amazon. On Tuesday, Home Media magazine said that the Collection will soon be adding a streaming subscription service under the banner WB Archive Instant. “Instantly Watch Rare and Hard-to-Find Movies and TV,” it says on the website, inviting visitors to participate in a beta test of the service. There was no immediate indication how much subscriptions will go for when the site launches or how many titles will be available.
