SUNDAY RATINGS CONTINUE TO ERODE FOR BROADCASTERS
With the broadcast networks almost certainly losing viewers to cable’s The Walking Dead and The Bible miniseries Sunday night — cable ratings for the night won’t be available until Tuesday — nearly every primetime Sunday show on the five major networks saw audience declines, according to overnight Nielsens. The only show to crack the 10-million-viewer level was CBS’s 60 Minutes — and only just barely. Nielsen said just 10.1 million viewers watched the venerable news magazine. CBS, in fact, led in every half hour of primetime Sunday, often substantially. But chances are that when all is writ about Sunday evening ratings, the two cable hits will put to shame the numbers touted by the broadcasters.
