Netflix has downplayed reports that it will lose some 1,794 titles for its streaming service this month — beginning today (Wednesday). The losses include the James Bond classics Dr. No and Goldfinger, Woody Allen’s Stardust Memories, the horror flick Audrey Rose, as well as 15 seasons of South Park. None of the titles available via the Netflix DVD-by-mail service is affected by the new deletions. In a statement, Netflix said that the majority of features that it plans to remove from its streaming service are “older features.” Besides, the statement said, “We recently added many great, more recent titles such as ParaNorman (Universal), The Hunger Games (Epix), Safe (Epix) and Bachelorette (Weinstein).” It added that today (Wednesday) it is adding Mission: Impossible 2, among some 500 other titles.. “This ebb and flow happens all the time,” it concluded.
