NBC’s big-budget musical series Smash, which never was one, went out the way a Broadway flop usually does — quietly, with little notice. The series finale drew just 2.36 million viewers against two repeats, The Mentalist on CBS and Rookie Blue on ABC. Everything else on broadcast TV Sunday night was a rerun except for the NASCAR 600 on Fox, which averaged 6.88 million viewers between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. — by far the most-watched program of the night.
