DID NEWLY HIRED ACADEMY EXEC HIDE HIS BACKGROUND IN PORN?

Although his hiring went unannounced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a former soft-porn producer, director and writer has been engaged by the Academy as managing director of outreach and strategic initiatives — a unit principally promoting racial diversity in Hollywood, Deadline.com’s Nikki Finke reported on Wednesday. Finke said that members of the Academy board of governors with whom she spoke had been unaware of Vicangelo Bulluck’s background. Although an unidentified AMPAS exec told Finke that the Academy was well aware of Bulluck’s past, Finke claims that he had omitted any mention of it on his resumé. His extensive credits, which include titles such as Playboy: The Best of Anna Nicole Smith, Playboy: The Best of Jenny McCarthy, and Playboy: The Best of Pamela Anderson, are posted on the IMDb website, but when asked why no one at the Academy had not checked out his credits there, Kimberly Congdon, managing director of human resources at AMPAS, replied, “What’s the IMDb?”
