New Yorkers who subscribe to Time Warner Cable are going to get CBS back on their TV sets next week, but only for the time it takes to air the the debates among Democratic candidates for comptroller on Aug. 22 and the Republican candidates for mayor on Aug. 28. Both debates will air during the so-call primetime-access period between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Except that, so far as the TWC cable subscribers are concerned, the CBS channel will again go dark as primetime begins. “We are very pleased that these two institutions have chosen to look past their differences and provide all New Yorkers the best opportunity to see these important debates,” Father Joseph Parkes, head of the New York City Campaign Finance Board, said in a statement.
