DISNEY: NO DEAL WITH DISH IF HOPPER IS INCLUDED

This time it may not just be a demand for higher fees that could prevent a new agreement between the Walt Disney Co. and satellite-TV service DISH. According to Bloomberg news, negotiations between the two sides could come undone over DISH’s ad-skipping DVR called “The Hopper.” Disney and DISH negotiators, who had expected to wrap up the talks by Wednesday, extended them until Friday, but Bloomberg’s sources said they could run into next week. The two sides did agree to a “short term” extension, thereby allowing ABC and ESPN shows to be made available in the state while the two sides continued to try to bang out a new deal.
