FOX CANCELS ANIMATED SERIES BEFORE AIRING A SINGLE EPISODE

On the day after it announced that it was picking up The Simpsons for a 26th season, Fox TV said that it had canceled another animated show, Murder Police, before it aired a single episode. Fox had initially ordered 13 episodes of the series; however, TVGuide.com reported on Tuesday that Fox execs “were not happy with early cuts of the show.” The website did not indicate why they were unhappy. In announcing it, Fox said that the series “expands the boundaries of the cop show genre as only animation can.” TV Guide said that Fox will now try to shop the series to potential buyers on cable-TV “once more complete episodes are available.”
