As a result of the runover of the college football game between Arizona State and Notre Dame on Saturday, Saturday Night Live, with guest co-host Miley Cyrus, didn’t begin until almost Sunday Morning (11:57 p.m.). But the 27-minute delay didn’t prevent the SNL episode from producing its best ratings since last April 13, according to preliminary Nielsen figures released by the network on Sunday. TVbytheNumbers.com also reported that the show was up 23 percent in the 18-49 age group compared with the same weekend a year ago. Moreover, the show drew more viewers in its post-midnight slot than any show on any network during primetime. During the telecast Cyrus spoofed both her controversial appearance on the the MTV Video Music Awards and her previous Disney-friendly persona. When at one point she was asked what ever happened to Hannah Montana, she replied, “She was murdered.”
