Twentieth Century Fox’s The Heat, which surprised at the box office earlier this week when it racked up $159.4 million in domestic ticket sales, took over the top spot on the list of leading home-video sellers for the week ended Oct. 20, according to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart. It beat out another new release, Warner Bros.’ Pacific Rim, which earned a disappointing $101.8 million domestically but a solid $305.8 million overseas. On the Nielsen chart, it beat The Heat for the most Blu-ray discs sold. The Fox/DreamWorks Animation family film The Croods followed in third place in its third week in stores, while Warner Bros.’ The Hangover Part III fell to No. 4. On Home Media magazine’s rental chart, After Earth remained the top film, followed by This Is the End, while Kevin Hart‘s comedy film Let Me Explain took third place.
