Fox’s coverage of Game 6 of the World Series averaged 18 million viewers Wednesday night, making it, according to TVbytheNumbers.com, the highest rated show on any broadcast network since a January 30 broadcast by Fox of American Idol. The telecast, which saw the Boston Red Sox win the Series for the first time in 95 years, peaked in the 9:00 p.m. half-hour with 19.46 million viewers. All of the other networks seemed to take a hit from the Series (no pun intended). While drawing a solid 10.62 million viewers, Criminal Minds on CBS was down 11 percent from last week, and ABC’s Modern Family produced its lowest ratings ever — 7.42 million, down 14 percent from last week. ABC’s Nashville also suffered its worst ratings ever, falling 14 percent to 5.23 million viewers.
