After insisting that she and the 60 Minutes staff worked for over a year to verify the authenticity of the information it received for a report on the Benghazi terrorist attack, correspondent Lara Logan acknowledged today (Friday) that “we were misled and we were wrong.” Her admission — a rare, if not unprecedented one for the venerable CBS news magazine — followed a report by the Washington Post that a principal source for the report had given conflicting statements about his role during the attack. The realization that a faulty report had been aired would have been “disappointing for any journalist,” Logan said on CBS This Morning. “It’s very disappointing for me.”
